Travel Service is a member of the travel industry organisation, the Association of Swedish Travel Industry, SRF. The purpose of the association is to promote the positive development of the travel industry, and to assist its members in issues common to the industry. In order to become a member of SRF, the company must have a sound economic foundation and put in place a statutory travel guarantee. Moreover, the travel agency’s staff must have adequate experience and training.
SRF represents just over 85 percent of the country’s travel agencies in terms of sales volume, and around 50 percent of all tour operators (excluding charter operators). SRF has around 230 member companies and represents almost 400 sales outlets. The member companies employ around 4,000 people between them with combined annual sales of SEK 33.5 billion in 2011.
